Microbiology

Microbiology is one of the main pillars in science. It plays a fundamental role in our understanding of the natural world and has significant implications across various scientific disciplines, industries and even everyday life. Studying the precise details of microorganisms (bacteria, fungi, parasites or virus) such as their morphology, proteomic and genomic organization, life cycle or replication mechanisms present some challenges as microorganisms are quite dynamic (cell cycle, growth) with a size below diffraction limit (<250nm), hence require fast temporal and/or spatial resolution such as provided by Single Particle Tracking and Single molecule localization microscopy techniques respectively (1 ref Ulrike).
